There are two proposed bills in the Wisconsin State Assembly that could make a huge difference in turning the plastic tide: AB 177 and ABB 226.
Assembly Bill 177 would revoke a previous law that prohibits local governments from banning or assessing a fee for plastic bags. Local communities would finally be able to make their own decisions in this critical step to ending plastic pollution!

Assembly Bill 226 would prohibit food and beverages from being served in foam polystryene ("styrofoam") packaging. This is one of the most difficult materials to recycle, and usually ends up in our landfills or polluting our ecosystems, where it will exist for millennia.

Read below for more information on how to get these bills passed.
